PUPPY DAYTIME COURSE (5-week course)
We only teach on a 1:1 basis as we prefer a more hands-on and personal approach to training, which group classes can't alway offer.
Basic obedience - 3 indoor sessions in your home
Basic obedience is a must for all new puppy owners! We need to teach our puppies to respond to us as their owners and to teach them the art of impulse control and general manners. Over the course of 3 sessions in the comfort of your own home, we will teach your puppy to:
Sit on voice cue
Lie down on voice cue
Give a paw on voice cue
Prevent unwanted behaviours such as jumping up
Play appropriately with people
Give us their attention
Wait in position until you return (most useful when answering the front door)
Get our puppies used to being handled (as a vet or groomer would)
Get our puppies used to people being around their food, chews and treats (to prevent possessive behaviours)
We can also advise on the following most common development areas:
Separation Anxiety
Toilet Training
Crate Training
Outdoor and Explore - 2 outdoor sessions
This stage takes the basic level the puppies have learnt as we venture out with you into the great outdoors; full of smells and distractions! Over the course of 2 sessions we will work with you and your puppy on an increased level of obedience and impulse control:
Recall training – teaching your puppy to come back when called
Loose lead walking – teaching your puppy to walk on a loose lead (very important for large breeds)
The Process
All sessions are 1 hour long. We provide handouts so that the whole family can practice what we've covered at home afterwards. We suggest doing a minimum of 1 session a week and then ask that the owners practise what we've covered before we move onto the next session - a bit like doggy homework! We understand that puppies will be at different levels and so we can of course repeat any session if necessary and owners can book as many or as few sessions as required.

PUPPY GRADUATE TESTIMONIALS
‘I contacted Wimbledon Superdogs for help with training my 6-month old puppy Scout. From the start Nikki was friendly and very helpful and perhaps most importantly, she clearly loves dogs! Nikki's sensible advice and calm training methods were perfect to help my puppy become a very obedient dog. The sessions we had with her were a great success! They were fun and very productive and the follow up notes she provided were really useful. This was money well spent and I would have no hesitation in recommending Nikki as a dog trainer’
Juliet - Scout’s Owner
'Nikki has been absolutely incredible as a dog walker and trainer; she has offered us kind and expert support even before we picked up our puppy, Monty the Beagle, and since we brought him home. She is incredibly friendly, funny, highly knowledgeable, and endlessly patient. Her training was fun and engaging for both us and Monty! He absolutely adores her - we can tell from his behaviour how much he enjoys his time during their walks and certainly noticed how well-adjusted he has become – who would have guessed you could get a Beagle to do recall! Thanks to Nikki we have a very happy and well-behaved puppy – unreserved recommendation!'
Rob & Andy - Monty’s Owners
'We can not recommend Nikki highly enough.
We were lucky enough for her to squeeze us in for 4 training sessions with our new French Bulldog puppy.
From the moment I made an enquiry Nikki was so helpful and willing to answer any questions we had as new puppy owners.
Her style, commitment, knowledge and dedication are without fault. She is a joy to be around and had a completely untrained puppy following commands within minutes. We have been so impressed that we already plan to book further training for the 6 month stages, and enrol in dog walking, as there is no one we trust more to look after our dog when we can’t.
If you’re looking for any kind of dog service, save yourself the hassle of looking around and go straight to Nikki. You won’t find anyone better.'
Tim and Chris - Rufus’ Owners
'We thank our lucky stars that we met Nikki. We were first time dog owners with our Maltese puppy, Toto, and feeling rather overwhelmed (understatement) when she first came to train him (and me). I was particularly hopeless (doing everything wrong) and how Nikki managed to keep a straight face is a mystery. Nikki has a gentle, natural, albeit informed and engaging, style, and has been absolutely lovely with Toto and my daughter. She also achieved fast results - Toto was following commands and doing tricks by the end of the first session, and thoroughly enjoying himself. Toto can now follow many commands and do lots of tricks, and Nikki also gave invaluable tips for “recall”. Toto is now booked on walking sessions with Nikki, and it’s lovely to know that he’s in such safe hands and will have so much fun with her other dogs on the common. Nikki is clearly a genuine lover of dogs, an impressive gifted conscientious professional, and an all-round lovely person.
Barbara - Toto’s Owner
'Doing the training sessions with Nikki was the best decision we could have made with a new pup. George has been a dream and a lot of credit goes to Nikki giving us the skills to train him. All of the commands she taught us get used every single day, and her walks in the park helped us understand how to read George and the other dogs, so I no longer worry when a dog twice the size of him comes bounding up to us! We are extremely grateful we found Nikki, and would highly recommend working with her to any puppy owner.'
Peta - George’s Owner
'We had 6 sessions of puppy training for our Beagle with Nikki as we knew she was somewhat of a Beagle expert! She was brilliant. Rosie loved her sessions and loved Nikki. We feel loads more confident now and are even mastering recall despite the Beagles elusive reputation! Would highly recommend!'
Jodie & Will - Rosie’s Owners
'Nikki has been totally amazing - professional, knowledgable and reliable. She has such compassion, empathy and she truly cares about her doggies. As a new pup owner I was anxious and lacked confidence. Getting puppy lessons with Nikki was the best thing - for me, my partner and Mille the poo. Millie has gone from a shy timid pup to a bounding confident happy thing - as have I with her. I trust Nikki and will be going to her for future services'
Donna - Millie’s Owner
'Nikki was instrumental in helping me feel confident coping with a young puppy and helping Lottie to settle into our family. She is very kind and taught us how to manage Lottie by positive reinforcement and consistency. We have a lovely, sweet natured dog who we all adore and I feel it was down to Nikki showing us how to handle a puppy. The whole family participated in the training and I found Nikki particularly helpful and patient in answering lots of questions and giving advice. Lottie adored the training and was very excited when it was time for Nikki to visit. We still see Nikki as we are using her for dog grooming. Again she made sure that Lottie was happy and comfortable with the experience and she also was very concerned about how I would like her to look. We are delighted with her haircut…! I would recommend Wimbledon Superdogs with no hesitation…Nikki is great!'
Emma - Lottie’s Owner
'Nikki is amazing with dogs. She is just a natural. Nikki helped us train our cockapoo puppy and she built a great relationship with Doolin and my son (who absolutely adores her too). I would highly recommend her. Best of all is we continue to see her as she helps us keep Doolin groomed in her calm and nurturing home environment. She really is very special.'
Belinda - Doolin’s Owner
I must say that as much as you can research and read books, having Somebody actually come in and train your new puppy with you is a very different experience. It's not just about training obedience to a new puppy, it's also about learning yourself and how to do it effectively and in different environments. We are so pleased with Harley's progress and how much she has learnt so quickly. From the moment we contacted Nikki we knew we had made the right decision - supportive, knowledgeable and open, Nikki has been an invaluable resource that we will no doubt in the future use again - Highly recommended!
